WHAT TO DO
in los angeles!
A day in the life of us.
-
Coffee at Kumquat
This place turned us into coffee snobs over the course of quarantine. We come here anywhere between 1-4 times a week, for good reason. If you want quality caffeine in the morning, look no further.
-
Brunch at Delia's
Sweet Delia is our breakfast burrito mom. We’ve both been coming here since our Oxy days, and it never fails to disappoint. Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside.
-
Thrift Shopping
LA has so many thrift shops that you’d never know where to start. Luckily, you have us. Our favorites are: The Bearded Beagle in Highland Park, Crossroads Trading Company in Old Town Pasadena, and Buffalo Exchange on Melrose.
-
The Last Bookstore
If you do ONE touristy thing while you’re in LA, this should be it. Forget Hollywood, forget Disneyland—how can you resist tons of books for sale all housed in myriad creative displays?
-
Dinner at Hippo
This is our go-to “treat yoself” meal. Their handmade pasta, addictive grilled bread, and to-die-for butterscotch budino are worth the price. If you can’t snag a res, Triple Beam Pizza across the way is a strong consolation prize.
-
Drinks at Blind Barber
What’s cooler than walking into a trendy barber shop, and heading straight through the back door into a funky speakeasy? Yummy drinks, grilled cheese, and right down the street from Hippo. What more could you want?
