FAQ
If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please feel free to ask Raven or Christian directly.
Where do I stay?
After months of deliberation, we decided to offer a block of rooms at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s less than ten minutes driving from Grass Room, and central to all of LA generally. Find more info about all logistics, from travel to accommodations to airports, here.
What’s the parking situation?
If you’re an LA native or familiar with LA as a city, we know this was the first question on your mind. If you plan on partying hard, we highly recommend you take an Uber or Lyft from where you’re staying (taking into consideration LA’s infamous traffic, of course—we recommend using Waze for an accurate ETA)! That being said, if you prefer to drive, Grass Room has a valet service that we’re covering the cost of, so that you do not have to experience the trauma that is parking in DTLA. Trust us, we’ve been there.
IMPORTANT: We do not recommend parking at The Ace. It’s valet only, $15 for two hours, and $50 a night. That’s ludicrous.
Should I rent a car?
We do not recommend it!! It will be more cost-effective and easier to use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft to get around the city. Even we don’t like driving in DTLA as natives. Also, parking at The Ace or anywhere in DTLA is ludicrously expensive. We’d only recommend renting a car if you’re staying in an AirBnb or hotel outside of DTLA; and we still recommend using a ride-share app to get to the wedding!
What’s the weather like in LA?
Don’t be alarmed: but it can be quite warm in July. An average day is about 80°F, and a hot one is around 95°, with nights in the mid 60s. The current weather prediction for the day of the wedding is 85°. We’d recommend packing cotton t-shirts/shorts/dresses for your non-wedding wear, but fear not—Grass Room has AC.
What’s the dress code?
Semi-formal! We’re classin’ it up. Suits and cocktail attire will be the norm. Haven’t you been secretly waiting for a reason to dress up? Nothing is too extra for us. The Grass Room AC will protect you from the LA heat. Dancing is guaranteed, so take that, as well as Grass Room’s stone floors, into consideration.
What’s the COVID situation?
As of 07•19•22!
For our comfort and the safety of everyone invited, we are requiring COVID vaccination to attend this wedding. You’ll be asked for your vax status when you RSVP—if you aren’t vaxxed, we’ll also accept a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the wedding. No masks will be required at this event, but you’re welcome to do what makes you comfortable. Thanks for understanding!
If you are feeling ill please, for the love of god, stay home. If you have recently been in contact with someone who had COVID, please reach out to us so we can figure out the best course of action.
Can we throw money at you for publicly declaring your love and commitment to each other?
Your presence at our wedding is gift enough! But if you’d like to help us grow our Big Kid House Stuff collection, there’s no way we can say no. You can find our registry info here.
Can I bring my kid?
We want everyone to be able to have fun without worrying about kids running around or preteens moping around (as much as we love them despite the running and moping). If you need help finding childcare in LA, we’d love to help! Feel free to reach out to either of us and we’ll figure it out together!
Can I have a +1?
Ah, the age-old question. Please trust that we’ve agonized over this guest list for eons, and determined that the only +1’s would be doled out to serious SO’s and guests who wouldn’t know anyone else—fiancés and spouses should have been named on your invite. If you haven’t been given a plus one, it’s because we’ve invited people you like! If you have been given a plus one, there will be a space available to to name them yourself when you RSVP here.
